A footage of a rescued beaver building “dam” inside house using family heirlooms

Animals are incredible and each of them has its special place on earth. This is a story about an animal who should live in the wild but his fate had other plans for him and he had to be rescued. Here’s a moving video of the beaver, Sawyer, building a covered “dam” out of various objects that has gone viral.

The video was shared by Mississippi Aquarium research director Holley Muraco. In the video bellow the animal is seen being busy collecting stuffed animals, blankets, Christmas ornaments, wrapping paper, and more to build a hallway dam. The images show beavers’ unique instinct of building dams. Sawyer’s ongoing battle with SpongeBob’s pant legs has been cited as a must-see moment.

Holley explains that no one should worry about natural behavior in an unnatural environment. Sawyer spends most of his time outdoors with other Beavers, but occasionally enjoys going inside. Along with two other beavers, Huck and Finn, Sawyer is being rehabilitated with the help of Woodside Wilfdlife Rescue.

Raising it takes a lot of work, but it is very important. Beavers play a fundamental role in the ecosystem, but are sometimes mistakenly considered pests. By sharing the adventures of Sawyer, Huck and Finn, Holley hopes people will fall in love with this unusual and quirky rodent and better understand its importance in our environment.
