Cultures around the world are very different and sometimes they have traditions and rules that are sometimes even hard to believe in. We want to tell you about a one from Pakistan that will amaze you for sure.

Somewhere in present-day Pakistan, there is a “Banyan” tree that is chained to the ground according to all the rules of the prison case, so that it does not escape. On the sign, which is visible among the branches, it says: “I am under arrest.”

The story goes back in 1898. A British officer named James Squid was once heavily drunk, and suggested that the tree was too zealous to spread its branches and prevent His Majesty’s officer from passing, which humiliates the British crown.

Without thinking of anything smarter than how to cope with the obstacle that appeared on the way, the officer gave the order to arrest the tree and put it in chains so that it would not run and escape away. It needed to suffer its well-deserved punishment.

The order was immediately executed and the tree was under arrest and was even guarded for some time. It is always interesting for people to know why the tree is in chains, and this story doesn’t sound realistic for many of them. More than a hundred years have passed since then, but the tree is still in chains, and the weir story is still being told for interested people.
