Things to know when training your cat

All pet owners try to train and teach their pets useful things which will make life with them easier. And it is also a very fun process.

Let’s talk about training cats. Is training cats as easy as dogs? Well it’s actually not. They are completely different animals and almost have nothing in common. Cats are more independent animals and sometimes can just refuse to train with you and you can not do anything about it. But it does not mean it’s impossible it just may take longer time and patience. First advice is to clearly know what you want to teach your cat.

It can be-keep calm when you brush her, to interact with you and other people or animals, not to scratch the furniture or to play with toys. You need to understand that for animals learning something may be hard and trainings have to be short. When you feel that your cat is getting tired just stop the training. Always change the territory where you do the trainings. For example if you teach your cat to not scratch things around house you have to do it everywhere.

You can choose one warning word like “meow”, “oho” to say when you see the cat doing things she shouldn’t but it doesn’t have to be an everyday words like “no, “stop”, because the cat can be scared every other times you use them. So changing the territory is one of the most important steps in any kind of training as it affects cats memory. It is also so important to include other people or animals in process. If you live alone it will help your cat to become more sociable. It is a god idea to invite your friends some times and let your cat be around them. But involving others is mandatory if you live in a big family.

The cat needs to be trained by everyone to listen to their instructions. And of course in all this processes you need to use reward system every time your cat does right thing or refuses to do something bad. She will start showing that behavior often since she knows she has something to receive instead. It can be both food that she loves and kind words from her lovely owner, we know cats love lots of attention. Do everything with love, have patience and anything can become reality, we wish you good luck in your trainings!
