A long-lost warehouse was rediscovered after 25 years, revealing a collection of unused BMWs.

In early 2019, car enthusiasts were stunned when an abandoned warehouse in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria, was found to contain several BMW 5 Series E34 models. A group of young explorers stumbled upon the site, uncovering eleven dust-covered vehicles hidden under blankets.

Authorities were notified, and after opening the warehouse, they found ten sedans and one station wagon from 1994. Some cars had barely been driven, with minimal mileage and in excellent condition.

Most were painted red or black and carefully stored. However, none were registered for road use, and taxes and VAT had never been paid, making legal registration impossible.

The biggest mystery remains: why were these cars purchased and then abandoned? Some believe they were meant for foreign delegations in the 1990s, while others think they were intended for Bulgaria’s first car rental service, though the reason they were never used is unknown.

During inspections, experts found that many cars still had their original protective films, and their engines, suspension, and transmission were well-preserved despite minor aging.

This discovery continues to intrigue both car enthusiasts and historians. While the full story remains unclear, these forgotten BMWs offer a fascinating glimpse into the past. Maybe one day, the mystery will be solved.
