An ill dog is helped by chimpanzees and makes a full recovery. A beautiful story and footage!

A couple in Africa on a chimpanzee rescue mission realized they had to assist when they saw a sick dog. However, the puppy’s journey to recovery took an unexpected turn when assistance arrived from an entirely unanticipated source.

The directors of Liberia Chimpanzee Rescue are Jenny Desmond and her spouse Jim. One day, Jenny saw a small dog that appeared to be quite unwell and frail when she was traveling through the streets of a Liberian village. She took the little puppy to a chimpanzee shelter and christened him Snafu. Snafu was obviously malnourished, in need of deworming, and had a serious skin illness.

Jim, Jenny’s spouse, assisted her in caring for the small dog and even administered intravenous fluids to prevent dehydration. Snafu’s vigor gradually returned.

As the dog became stronger, Snafu was given permission to speak with the chimpanzee. Interestingly, the little dog seemed to appreciate the attention of everyone, and the chimps loved to pick him up and give him hugs. Snafu improved and grew throughout the hours that the chimp spent playing with her.

Jenny moved Snafu to Colorado, America, to live with her sister, brother-in-law, and their two young girls when it was time for her to locate a permanent residence.  Snafu escaped the grip of death and became a happy and healthy companion for her new family because of the extra care she received from Jenny, Jim, and the chimpanzee.
