Because of the baby’s huge nose, the mother was asked to give up the baby, but she decided to give birth. What does this baby look like today?

The fairy tale story about the adventures of Pinocchio is known practically to the whole world – the domestic version is better known as the mischievous and witty Pinocchio. Of course, this is fiction – but the power of nature was able to translate this fantasy into reality. And that’s how in 2014, a boy was born, whose mother quite reasonably calls him “the real Pinocchio”.

How did this happen?

The Power of Love

Amy Tresis already had a daughter, Annabelle – but she always wanted two children. So when she found herself pregnant for the second time – she was thrilled to have her dream come true.

However, as the fetus developed, it became quite obvious to doctors that the baby had a problem – a fissure in the facial part of the skull, which leads to the growth of soft tissue on the future baby’s face. Amy was offered an abortion – but she flatly refused.

And Ollie Trezis was born with a severe abnormality – some of the baby’s brain tissue formed in his nose, making the baby look remarkably like that same Pinocchio. And the growth of these tissues continued for months after birth.

But the funny resemblance had a downside – the anomaly made it difficult to breathe. And it took several surgeries at once to allow Ollie to breathe normally.

Of course, the mother feared for the baby’s condition during these operations – but there was simply no other way out in the situation, so she just hoped for the best. And the skill of the medics, multiplied by the power of a mother’s love, made it possible to achieve almost the impossible – the hours-long operations were completed successfully, the skull was opened professionally, and the removal of the bag of brain fluid went without the slightest problem.

Reciprocity

Given the situation, Amy legitimately feared subsequent problems as well. However, Ollie turned out to be a very contactive, positive, and endlessly smiling baby, and his obvious reciprocal feeling made it easier for his mother to get over any difficulties that arose. For her, her son was and still is the most ordinary child, ready to give love – but in great need of it himself.

Today Ollie is really quite an ordinary little boy who likes to have a good time. And passionately plays with his sister – who is even jealous of how much attention he gets.

However, when Amy began to tell her story online – she was struck by how many angry comments came out in response to the story and how many people called her son a “freak” who doesn’t belong in this world.

But the first shock of such “performances” has passed – and Amy continued to talk about Ollie and the difficult beginning of his life everywhere she could. She is sure that in this way people will learn to accept children who are unlucky enough to be born with anomalies, and other mothers will not have to read about their babies the way they wrote to her.
