Boy sewing bow ties for shelter dogs to be adopted

A little boy has to help the animals from the shelter find a family. To do this, he makes them adorable little bow ties. These dogs have broken many hearts in their 31! Hundreds of them have already been adopted because of this.

Darius is a boy whose life is also full of traps.

Darius Brown is a 13-year-old American boy from New Jersey. At the age of 2, he was diagnosed with speech, comprehension, and motor delays. The difficulty, he knows it. It’s an integral part of his life. Ever since he was born, he hasn’t stopped struggling to survive in this sometimes very cruel world.

Thus, this little boy understands very well the pitfalls of life as well as the importance of kindness, solidarity, and people reaching out to you. That’s why he was very moved by these poor dogs and decided to help them.

Outstanding Designer.

When he was 8 years old, Darius loved watching his older sister use the sewing machine. He wanted to participate, but the latter was afraid he would hurt himself. Nevertheless, she still taught him how to use it to give him pleasure and help him cope with his motor problems. And before she knew it, Darius was a true professional: he was making beautiful bow ties that he wore with pride!

Revelation

In 2017, Hurricanes Harvey and Irma hit America hard. Pictures of chaos and residents being rescued flooded television sets around the world. And they touched little Darius deeply. He then asked himself: “who saves animals?”

After searching hard, he discovered that several dogs rescued from the disaster had been transferred to a New York spa near his home. He also learned that thousands of shelter animals are euthanized every year because of overcrowding.

Devastated, Darius immediately wanted to help them. And since he is a unique little boy, he found a very unique way to do it: sew beautiful bow ties for the animals to encourage people to take them!

A real success

Darius has made hundreds of bow ties of all colors, which he sends to the four corners of the country! Everyone will find something for themselves: polka dots, stripes, florals… There is only one thing in common: they must be unique, cheerful, and bright so that each dog can shine and attract all eyes.

Shelter animals are so adorable, it’s hard to resist them! Thanks to Darius, hundreds of them have finally found loving homes. The young American has received many awards recognizing his work. Barack Obama, former President of the United States, even sent him a letter of congratulations.
