Since its 2011 release, a video featuring Katie Boyle and Jason Calacino performing Honky Tonk has received so much attention from all over the world. Jason was well-known for his West Coast Swing dance style. He began learning line dancing as a teenager.  Later on, he picked up more intricate dance moves like ballroom dancing, salsa, jazz, and Argentine tango.

Katie began dancing when she was two years old. Throughout her time at the institution, she kept up her training. She is an art teacher in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at the moment.

The duo may be seen in the video below performing a challenging “Honky Tonk” routine to the popular song “Honky Tonk Woman.”

Although the song’s beat may evoke memories of country music, Rolling Stones members Mick Jagger and Keith Richards wrote it while on vacation in Brazil. The performers said that the Brazilian song “Caipiras” served as some sort of inspiration for the song.

In the 1930s, honky tonk music gained popularity. It soon rose to prominence as the most well-known country song in the entire country. Popular musician Hank Williams employed this musical genre. Intense hip movements marked the start of Jason and Katie’s choreography, which culminated in a complex sequence of spins and slides.
