Amazing storiesDogs Homeless puppy brought the most valuable thing he had to rescuers. They couldn’t hold back their tears by Impress story 22.01.2023 22.01.2023 190 views Share 0FacebookTwitterPinterestLinkedinTumblrRedditWhatsappTelegram Stray animals often try to thank the people who helped them find a home. This gratitude can be expressed in different ways, but the act of this puppy, who later received the nickname Gunnar, moved the rescuers to tears. Gunnar was born in 2019 in South Africa, in the town of Franschhoek. His mother was a homeless mongrel who bred in an abandoned house near a landfill. Stray dogs were not particularly welcomed by the locals, and one day the mother and puppies disappeared, all but Gunnar. He escaped because he hid in a pile of garbage and people did not notice him. So, the two-month-old Gunnar was left alone and began to survive in the landfill. It is not known how long he would have lasted, but he was lucky: one of the locals saw the baby and called animal rights activists from the Sidewalk Specials organization. This organization operates in Africa, providing assistance in the sterilization and treatment of animals. And although the animal rights activists do not have their own shelter, they found an opportunity to help Gunnar by paying for his maintenance in a veterinary clinic. When rescuers arrived at the dump and fed the puppy, he returned his greatest treasure – a piece of bread he had found. Volunteers could not hold back their tears, seeing how the baby brings them bread, which is almost larger than himself. This bread was a real treasure for Gunnar, because there is not much food in the landfill – but he decided to treat the good people who came to take care of him. Gunnar is doing well at the moment. He quickly found a family of Europeans working in Africa, and now he has a home and loving owners. He walks a lot in the garden and on the ocean, playing with people. His fate is going well and he is quite happy.
