How a family lived with lions in the same house for 11 years. Their experience is really scary

Such a crazy idea came to actress Tippi Hendren, Melanie’s mother, and her husband Noel Marshall, when they decided to make a film about a scientist who lives in perfect harmony with wild animals. It was then that they settled the Nile lion in their mansion.

Neil swam in the pool, slept in their beds including thirteen-year-old Melanie and constantly spent time with family members. The lion was not limited in any way in his movements, but at the same time he behaved quietly and peacefully. Neal got along great with little Melanie and soon became her best friend.

The lion ate well. Daily he was given six kilograms of fresh raw meat. The family was completely delighted with him, and soon Tippi and Noel took another lion cub … And then another one … After all, according to the plot of the film, one hundred and ten predators lived on the main character’s ranch.

However, when it came to filming, problems rained down as if from a cornucopia. Initially, they expected to shoot everything in nine months, but the shooting dragged on for a long eleven years. During this time, most of the project participants were seriously affected. So, for example, Melanie’s mother got gangrene because one of the many lions tightly squeezed her leg between his fangs and the side of the truck.

Melanie herself was wounded in the face by a predator, which is why the girl subsequently needed plastic surgery. Noel’s son, John was almost bitten y one of them, and one of the operators was scalped. The man survived a complex operation. It took one hundred and twenty stitches to bring the skin back to the back of the head. Filming was constantly delayed either because of the injuries of the actors, or because of the departure of one or another terrified member of the film crew.

Finally, the film was shot. At the box office, he collected many times less than the money spent on filming. The animals were moved to the reserves, and Tippy and Noel broke up, stopped communicating and tried to forget about the film altogether. At the very least, they have completely abandoned the idea that humans and wild animals can coexist in harmony with each other and live an ordinary life.
