How the cat caught the thief

When pets receive care and affection from their owners, they also strive to express their loyalty to them. Sometimes this desire is expressed in actions that could be called heroic. For example, an animal may try to protect housing or household members, and so fervently, that this is capable of not every man. Stories of such “feats” of our smaller brothers are many. And here’s one of them.

Once the tenants of the house noticed that there is an ambulance and a police car at their doorway. The house was five-story, so here that is called “everybody knew everybody,” and usually at the entrance was quiet – no one was fighting, no one was shouting. Even the opposite – the grandmothers on the third and fourth floors tried in every possible way to create a cozy atmosphere, so there were usually flowers on the windowsills and curtains on the windows.

People watched in bewilderment as a complete stranger was carried out on a stretcher in blood and loaded into an ambulance. When a minute later one of the tenants, escorted by a police patrol, came out, everyone was even more curious. So as soon as the neighbor, whose name was Mikhail, finished talking to the police, he was immediately surrounded by the excited tenants.

The man said that before dinner he decided to stock up on groceries for the week and went to the store. He was gone for an hour and a half. Approaching his door, he suddenly found the door to his apartment ajar. The vigilant man wanted to call the police when he suddenly noticed someone’s feet. The man appeared to be lying on the floor. Mikhail cautiously opened the door and saw the bloodied man lying unconscious on the floor. Proshka the cat was sitting nearby and seemed to be guarding him. As soon as Proshka saw his owner, he rushed to him and began to rub his feet, as if trying to convey all his emotions about what had happened.

Mikhail called 911 and waited for the ambulance and police, who helped to understand the situation. They already knew that the man was a common burglar who had followed the apartment, correctly determining that a lonely man lived here. And so, when he planned to commit a theft, he received an unexpected rebuff…from a cat.

Proshka turned out to be sleeping peacefully on his favorite place – the top shelf of the hallway, among the fur hats. Therefore, unsuspecting thief did not even notice him. But the cat woke up by the rustle of the opening door, thinking that the owner had come. Seeing a stranger on the threshold of his apartment, the cat immediately threw himself on top of him, which the thief was not expecting. And Proshka clawed at his face with all his might. From the shock, the thief had a heart attack and collapsed unconscious right outside the front door, where Mikhail found him.

The owner appreciated the cat’s loyalty and, in addition to praise, Proshka received a bowl of delicious fish, which he adored. Now, when Michael left home, he was confident that his home was under the protection of a mustachioed, striped security guard. He respected his cat very much, and even for minor pranks he was not angry, because he believed that a real hero is not forbidden to make mischief.
