It’s every parent’s worst nightmare having their child kidnapped. This teenager learned an important tip on TikTok that probably saved her life.

The story is about a 16-year-old girl from the US state of North Carolina has been kidnapped. Thanks to a wave of the hand, that she learned about on TikTok, she was rescued and her kidnapper apprehended.

The teenager was forced into a car with her abductor. But discreetly, she waved to the other cars nearby. A lot of people probably had no idea what she meant by that gesture or didn’t even notice her. However, a driver noticed the girl’s important gesture, and he knew what it meant. The attentive driver immediately called the police.

Police then spotted the car she was in and the 61-year-old driver was arrested. In the video below you can see exactly how the SOS hand gesture is performed by a sheriff.
