Lac de Gafsa, a lake that arose in a single day now carries a mystery and a danger to humans

The citizens of Tunisia live in a climate in which high temperatures prevail. Water procedures in the reservoir for many residents of this region is a luxurious vacation, which allows not only to relax, but also to escape from the heat.

The unique reservoir appeared right in the middle of the desert. It was noticed a few years earlier.

No one can still say what caused the formation of the lake. The coast of this oasis is always crowded with people.

Despite repeated warnings from researchers that the water in the pond has not undergone a number of tests and could cause infectious diseases, holidaymakers are always swimming here.

So why are scientists so concerned about this?

First of all, the worries are related to the poisonous substances found in the soil.

Experts suggest that phosphates may cause irreparable harm to people swimming in the lake.

Poisonous substances cause serious damage to organs such as the liver and kidneys. And the suspicion that the water is poisonous has crept in because of algae blooms, indicating that it is not being renewed.
