“Look, I can walk!” A touching video of a baby sharing joy with a dog

“Look, Maggie! I can go, Maggie! With these words, two-year-old Roman Dinkel won the hearts of internet users. The boy was born with a terrible disease, which was supposed to deprive him of the ability to move, but it turned out the other way around. It is impossible to not be touched by his sincere joy when he tells his dog that he can finally walk on his own.

Even during pregnancy, ultrasound showed that the child had a severe deviation – spina bifida. Further observation revealed that it was a myelomeningocele, the most severe form of the disease. Since then and until recently, Roman’s condition depended entirely on the efforts of doctors.

He underwent the first operation in the womb, and after a special therapy. The doctors did the main thing, eliminated the risk of paralysis and complete failure of the legs. But to learn to walk, when nature decided that you should not stand on your feet at all, Roman will have to do it on his own.

He had to understand, to realize that his mother’s hands could not support him forever. And Roman pleased her – after several falls, he stopped whining and began to stubbornly hold onto the crutches and learn not to lose balance. Those few steps that are captured on video are his first major success.

Maggie is his dog. And little Roman shares his joy with her. He perfectly understands what he has achieved, and is determined to develop success. He gained millions of views, many comments and likes in social networks.
