Amazing stories Man can’t hold back tears as he dances at his wedding to his condemned mother with sclerosis by Impress story 04.12.2022 04.12.2022 45 views Share 0FacebookTwitterPinterestLinkedinTumblrRedditWhatsappTelegram It is important to enjoy life and the people we love around us. We know this but we probably don’t do it enough. It’s important because it helps us cope with everyday life and feel fulfilled but also because life can take them away from us overnight. This loving mom, Terry, had Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS or Charcot’s disease) when she was able to fulfill one of her dreams: dancing with her son at his wedding. On October 20, 2020, MNF Productions, which was in charge of filming the wedding of Scooter Hightower and his wife Afton, explained on Facebook: “We had the honor of capturing by far the most moving and overwhelming Mother-Son dance we have ever filmed. At the end of this dance, there was not a dry eye in the room. Scooter’s mother passed away last night after a long battle with ALS and being surrounded by so much love.” The reason newlywed Scooter Hightower wanted to share such a heartbreaking moment with his mom after her passing is to raise awareness for ALS for all of us. His mother’s last wish was to be present at his wedding. He wanted to create a special moment with her and this mother-son dance was very important to them both. The song he chose was composed by a local artist, Thomas Finchum, and is titled “Mothers.” Scooter Hightower and his dad helped his mom out of her wheelchair to dance to the song together, and then all the kids joined them in front of tearful guests. “I wanted to make sure she knew that all of her kids were there with her and loved her,” the newlywed told Fox 17. ALS, also known as Charcot’s disease, a complex disease as stated by ARSLA. It is a serious neurodegenerative disease resulting in a progressive paralysis of the muscles involved in voluntary motor skills and whose evolution is unfortunately unpredictable. Scooter said, “It’s a despicable disease and I want to say to anyone who is going through it with their family, you are not alone […] This video is everything to me. It not only helps me through the hard times my family and I are going through, but it also helps others understand what ALS is […] Don’t be afraid to reach out and talk to someone.” Share 0 FacebookTwitterPinterestLinkedinTumblrRedditWhatsappTelegram Leave a Comment Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment.
