More than 50 years with a shared body: during this time the Siamese twin sisters have managed to become mothers and find love

Ganga and Jamna Mondal of India were born in 1969 or 1970. The lack of an exact date of birth is explained by the fact that the parents abandoned the girls when they realized they could not care for them properly. And the girls themselves did not know their own age.

Originally, the sisters were called Ayara and Jayara, but at the age of about 5, they were given new names in honor of the heroes of the famous Indian film “Ganga and Jamna”, released in the world back in 1961.

Sisters as children

At the age of 24 (or 25), the Mondal sisters became pregnant and became mothers in 1993. Then they had a baby girl who, unfortunately, did not live even a day. The details of this story are not known now, as Ganga and Jamna always tried to avoid this issue by not specifying details.

In 2008, the sisters got a job at a traveling circus in India, where they earned the nickname “Spider Sisters” (because of the way they move around with four arms and two legs). The twins quickly rose to fame, and from that point on they began to make good money.

The Mondal Sisters

In 2014, a new employee came to the circus where the sisters worked, the carnival performer Gadadhar. A romance began between the young men from the first days, which soon turned into the most serious relationship. After a few months, the lovers began to live together and were soon married. The sisters took their husband’s surname, Shreshta.

Ganga and Jamna are now over 50 years old. They are happily married and love their work. Doctors argue that the sisters could be separated, but they refuse the offer. The women believe that once separated, they would lose their specialness and the very zest that draws many new audiences to their circus.
