Most people can’t find the hidden cat in this photo, can you?

Wild animals often have very effective techniques to protect themselves from predators and be almost invisible in the wild. Some have certain colors to hide in, others make certain sounds and/or smells, etc.

We think of animals that camouflage, of course we think of chameleons, but also phyllis and stickworms, which are a good illustration of this. They are incredibly difficult to distinguish from real branches and leaves.

But it’s not just insects and reptiles that master the art of camouflage. The photo below is a great example. We won’t reveal what kind of animal it is just yet, so it’s still a little harder for you to track it down.

The snow leopard may not be the first animal we associate with camouflage, but that’s wrong! Unfortunately, this beautiful animal has been on the IUCN Red List as an endangered species since 1972.
