There are millions of different diseases that we even don’t know exist. They can be rare or common. We want to tell you about a rare one, that we are sure you have never heard about. This 28-year-old American resident Shanya Aisom has a very rare disease because of which her nails began to grow from the hair follicles on her skin. Sounds very strange and unbelievable.

Shanina is a stident. All these things started three years ago with an allergic reaction. After the reaction she noticed the strange syndrome appear. The disease makes it difficult for Shanina to walk, be active or do any other daily activities. It has brought with it so much difficulties for the young girl, who just wants to fully enjoy her life.

Her body is covered with small horny “needles” wherever there are hair follicles in the skin. It means all over her body, since hair grows everywhere on human’s body. Doctors are confused about the situation too, because they have never met something like that in their years. They try to figure out what is the reason that something like that is happening to Shanina and of course if it is possible to solve the problem or not.

The nightmare began in the most active period of her life-at university. In September of 2009 she had an asthma attack, after which she was prescribed steroids. That is when all started and a few hours later, the student felt horrible itching all over her body. Doctors noticed and watched how Shanina’s legs started to cover with dark bumps. It looked like boils and seemed to be very painful. It scared doctors and at that moment they immediately did everything to stop that but they couldn’t…

The only rare fact about the girl, that doctors could figure out is that she has  too much skin, which means 12 times more cells than necessary. That is why the integument of Shanina’s body breathes very difficultly and badly. The girl is getting used to her situation, but everyone hopes that the mystery of her disease will once be solved and she will feel happy again.
