Abandoned puppies

Zeus is a young Labrador from Manie, USA. One thing about him makes him so special and different from others. When he was 5 weeks old, he was found by the side of the road far from the city with his other siblings. Kind people who passed by saw and took them to a local shelter for animals. All the siblings were soon adopted and found their homes and families.

Why was he left?

Zeus was the only one to be left. The reason he was left and not adopted was that he had problems with hearing and was almost deaf. He also had problems with vision but the hearing was more serious. All the volunteers loved him so much and adored how strong he was. He was a survivor and everyone hoped he could find a better shelter for him too.

The meeting that changed lives

Another hero of our touching story is Nick Abbott, a young American boy. He is deaf too and that is going to be the reason of his strong connection with his pet. He knew about the puppy from social media when he came across an article about him. He arrived the center and everyone were shocked when Zeus rushed over him and sat on his lap. If you didn’t know it was their first meeting you would think that they know each other for years. It was so shocking for Nick and he never felt so happy before. It was a real love at first sight and Nick was sure Zeus was the one he was going to adopt. That day they found each other and Nick had a new friend in his house.

Their communication

Sign language is something magical and so important humanity invented. It was an integral part of Nick’s and Zeus’s life. He did everything to share it with Zeus and in very short period of time taught him of so many new signs and gestures. Zeus memorized them so well since he is so clever. He was just so happy to find Nick in his life. He clearly felt that contact with his owner!

Now Zeus knows all the signs needed for their basic day and they live their best life together.
