The abandoned newborn was saved by a street dog. Touching and heartwarming story about the bad side of our humanity

Unfortunately there are so many sad cases in humanity’s history about newborns becoming abandoned from the first day of their birth, without any protection. This is a story about how one of them survived.

 On a late December night, someone in Chhattisgarh, India, left abandoned their newborn baby, so young the umbilical cord was still attached, with no clothing or nutrition. The little girl’s chances of survival were very slim.

A local stray dog had just given birth to a litter of puppies. And again dogs were there to protect humans, and their own babies at the same time. The kind and clever dog found the baby naked in a field and brought her over to the place where her puppies rested. Nestled alongside the group of dogs, the fragile baby stayed warm enough to endure cold overnight temperatures.

Eventually, locals in the village overheard the baby’s cries the next day. They found her lying with the puppies, unharmed. The dogs essentially took this abandoned human in as one of their own. Imagine how kind and large their soul is.

An anonymous local said: “It’s possibly the warmth from puppies and their mother itself that kept the newborn alive. Usually, the temperature dips at night … I must say, it’s her sheer luck and the baby wouldn’t just survive in that conditions.

People may mistrust stray dogs, but these pups took better care of a baby than her own parents did. The parents of the poor baby should be found so they can take a responsibility for what they did.
