Pet Facts The Amazing Story of the Kleptomaniac Cat by Impress story 08.10.2022 08.10.2022 74 views Share 0FacebookTwitterPinterestLinkedinTumblrRedditWhatsappTelegram It turns out that cats can also suffer from kleptomaniacal tendencies. Despite the fact that, at first glance, they are so cute and fluffy. The owner of an ordinary cat, living in Britain, could not even assume that because of her pet she could be subjected to charges of theft. After all, a cat is not a magpie! The cat was well cared for, its owners loved her and she lived at home, occasionally taking walks outside. It would seem – what more do you need? Apparently, the kleptomaniac cat wanted a thrill. It could have been somehow justified if it dragged something edible – not only stray, but sometimes quiet pets do that. Even cats that get enough food at home all the time are known to steal some “goodies” from their neighbors. But this original cat was bringing home BEAUTY! We can only guess what possessed the cat in such moments: whether it wanted to make its owners happy or something attracted it to someone else’s underwear. In just one week, the “murky kleptomaniac” brought home pantyhose, gloves, and several panties. Since she lived in a private home, she probably stole in the surrounding yards, and in different ones. The cat’s owners were in complete perplexity – to whom they should return the things. And meanwhile, the economic cat did not despise anything – in addition to towels, socks, and bras, she brought shirts and pants. It’s hard to imagine how she got them home. In addition to the problem of getting things back, the owners had other questions, such as where their cat was dragging things – from a rope outside or right out of the house. Either way, though, it’s hard to escape such a burglar. The owners have long puzzled over what they could do against cat kleptomania, but all they could think of was to write a letter to the neighbors apologizing for their cat’s behavior and asking for help with an effective remedy against it if anyone knows of such a thing. Apparently, even the neighbors were stumped by this situation, as none of them could give practical advice on how to talk sense into the animal. The text of the letter was approximate as follows: “Dear neighbors! For some time now, oddly enough, our cat brings home clothes. The other day we found several pairs of stockings and sconces, and before that, shirts, socks, a sweater, baby onesies, and men’s pants. It’s amazing! Initially, we had to throw a few things away because we didn’t immediately understand where they had even come from, and we couldn’t even imagine what it would be like to walk all over the street with them, looking for their owners. Now we are folding them and inviting anyone who is missing something to stop by and see us without hesitation! We’re very sorry, we’re terribly embarrassed. Your neighbors.” Of course, cases where the cat snatched some little things – trinkets or small fur toys, are known. But for an animal to think of itself as the provider of all kinds of clothing and diligently carry out its “mission” – is already very unusual, although it violates the moral foundations of society.
