Sometimes animal stories are so touching, that you can’t get over them for days. This is that kind of story that will touch you for sure. Betty Burns and her fellow volunteers are the once who found an abandoned animal and didn’t even know what animal it was at first. He was rushed to Clinton Animal Hospital because he needed help more than ever.

They had received a signal in advance that the animal was likely to be a dog, but seeing it in front of them was a bit of a shock and they were confused. The woman explained that they couldn’t see the animal’s eyes at all, and the smell was absolutely awful. They felt very sorry for him…

The poor animal was sedated and a team of dog groomers and animal health professionals immediately got to work to free him of this weight and burden. His life was already in danger, and he needed to be taken care of. After four hours of work, approximately 7 kilos of fur had been removed.

Groomers estimate that the poor animal was probably left in a cage for 6-12 months due to the deplorable state of his coat. It wasn’t until they removed all the tangled fur that they saw what was hiding underneath: an adorable pooch! They named the 9-year-old cocker spaniel mix Pat the Mat.

After her life-changing transformation, Pat immediately started running and playing with toys. He was thrilled to be a dog again! Imagine how much he waited for someone to help him. Even after that he wasn’t aggressive and enjoyed communicating!

He is now being wonderfully taken care of by his new foster family and he will soon find a golden family! Again we realize how beautiful our world is when we have kind people around us, who are always ready to help.
