The boy with Down syndrome didn’t receive an invitation to a birthday party. His mom wrote an open letter and here is what respond she got

This is a story about how Jennifer Angèle’s son Sawyer who has Down syndrome, was the only one in his class that wasn’t invited to a classmate’s birthday party. They are a usual family living in Canada. Sawyer is a usual child too, and wants to experience friendship, parties and fun things, but unfortunately, he is being an outcast among his peers all the time. That is a very sad fact that children have to go through that kind of things.

Here is when Jennifer decided to defend her son and wrote an open letter to the boy’s parents and posted it on his Facebook page. Do you think mom got excited? Maybe. Imagine how emotionally difficult it is for his mom to constantly be forced to watch how others try to push her son to the gap of life.

The parents invited the whole class to the party including 22 people, and the only one that was not invited was Sawyer. According to the mother, her son has never had problems with his classmates. He is always very nice and tries his best to make new friends.

Jennifer is sure that the only reason his boy was not invited to the party is that he is a little different from other children his age. But they need to accept that it is normal. She also said that she was always afraid that the society wouldn’t be able to accept her son as he was.

The whole point of her letter was to show and tell people that everyone with this disease see life exactly the same way we do and there is no need to isolate or separate them from others. They just need chances to communicate, make friends, discuss, have goals and demonstrate how nice people they are.

Happily, all this things were accepted by the parents of Sawyer’s classmates, who at first didn’t ivite the boy. As a result, Sawyer soon received a special invitation which of course instantly made him the happiest boy in the world.
