Cats often surprise us with their agility and intelligence, and prove that we have to speak about it more often. Some are really good at dirty tricks and are pros at opening doors, drawers, etc. Here is a very striking example of it.

Quilty is a seven-year-old cat who is currently in the “Friends of Rescue and Adoption” (FFL) animal shelter. He had been living in a family but was recently brought back because his owner had moved out and couldn’t take the cat with him. So he was back.

And then the ‘problems’ started. Quilty knows how to open doors and he likes to use them frequently! He is a little naughty and smart cat. For him it is okay to let senior cats out of their boxes. Multiple times a day. Quilty doesn’t want to be locked up. And he has no shame- said shelter’s workers.

The cat was caught in the act and placed in an isolation cell, behind a glass door. Employees made sure the senior cat room was secured with child locks.

He missed his roommates while he was banished to the lobby. They enjoyed their nightly escapes within the shelter. The cat was of course released quickly. His adventures quickly went viral and interested so many people. There’s even a #FreeQuilty hashtag that is viewed so many times.
