Cathy Posten, who lives in America, while in her car, made an interesting find – an old photo taken in black and white.

The photo shows a girl and her baby, and on the back are their first and last names and the year the photo was taken. The photo is dated 1942.

Cathy decided that this photo ended up in the auto because of a tornado that was destroying the region in early December. The most devastated area turned out to be Kentucky. From news reports, Posten heard that debris had been found very far away from the buildings.

The girl made a decision to find out who owned the picture. To put her plan into action, the girl posted on social media and asked readers to spread the word.

“If anyone knows or assumes who is depicted in the photo, please let me know,” she signed the posts.

In just a couple of hours, the post was shared by thousands of readers. The girl could not read all the messages at once, because there were too many of them.

But she did find out that the last name on the back of the find is very common in Kentucky. The area is about two hundred miles from where the find was made.

“I certainly thought the owner was far away, but I had no idea it was that far away.”

Cole Swatzell was eventually contacted and confirmed the photo was his. According to him, the photo depicts his grandmother’s mother.
