The guy pinned a few dollars on the shield and what happened next surprised not only him

To help others, you don’t have to spend millions on charity or travel around the world helping the disadvantaged. Kindness can also manifest itself in everyday actions. Moreover, most people want to help those around them, but often do not know how to fulfill the impulses of their soul.

A group of enterprising citizens decided to conduct an unusual experiment. In a busy place in the city of San Diego, they set up a special shield, to which they pinned two dozen one-dollar bills. And in large letters they wrote on top: “Take as many as you need. Pin as many as you want.”

There was a hidden camera nearby that filmed the reactions of passersby. Some of them took a few dollars off the board, but most people left their money for this kind of street charity. After only 45 minutes, the amount on the board doubled, and soon the entire board was covered in bills!

When an elderly homeless man walked past the money billboard without taking anything from it, one of the organizers of the action approached him. “Don’t you need a few dollars, since you didn’t take anything from here?” – the volunteer wondered. To which the homeless man answered him, “Not really. But I’m full today, and there are hundreds of other people who need that money more right now. I’m not greedy. I’m glad this is happening in my town, and that’s enough for me. Maybe tomorrow I’ll take advantage of that help.”

This simple experiment showed that we are surrounded by many kind and helpful people.
