We want to tell you about Louis. He is an adorable dog who has not had the chance to have a peaceful and happy life as other dogs. He had to be knocked down by a car for a shelter to take him in. But once cared for and surrounded by love, it took many more months for someone to take an interest in him and finally offer him a forever home.

At the start of 2020, the poor dog was also hit by a car and broke his leg. His broken paw never healed properly as reports the animal shelter. He had had his eyes removed by his previous owners due to an eye infection, instead of being treated without having to undergo this drastic procedure.

Now Louis has found a home where he will receive all the love and care he truly deserves! Steve Walker is a veteran who began losing his sight at the age of 18 due to illness. However, this does not prevent him from participating in marathons, triathlons and Ironman competitions.

His family had no plans to adopt a dog, but after hearing Louis’ story, they knew they could do something for him!

Almost all the doors in the house have been removed and there is very little furniture left on the floor. The whole house is on the ground floor to make Louis’s life easier.

“I think he will benefit from a lot of the changes we’ve already made at home, so we’re very happy to see him adjusting to our home and our family, and really being happy.” said Steve.
