The incredible story of an inseparable dog’s loyalty

The fact that dogs are loyal and faithful animals has long been known. But usually the emphasis is on loyalty to the owner. Although there are touching stories about the loyalty of four-legged animals to their fellow dogs. For example, in one of the dog shelters found each other “two lonely” ordinary yard breeds – Alice and Jack.

They each had their own story before they came to the shelter. About Jack, it was not known if he was thrown by negligent owners or lost, or maybe he was even born on the street. Alice seemed to have had owners, at least it was considered so, but she practically never lived at home, spending all her time on the street.

No one took care of her and she often had to find food just like other homeless dogs. As a result, both young dogs ended up living in a shelter with other homeless animals when they were caught. Of course, if they were not in the same enclosure, it is unlikely that such a touching friendship would have happened between them. But as fate would have it, they slept together, shared their food and were surprisingly affectionate.

Of course, the “couple” could not have puppies as all dogs at the shelter are subject to sterilization. The dogs were very happy to see the volunteers who came to take them for a walk, but in their hearts they hoped that someday real owners would come and take them home. Spring came and the cheerful, lively Alice was indeed welcomed into the family. She had no problem making friends with all the household members, including the cat Vasily, and felt almost happy, if it were not for one “but”. The dog really missed his friend who had stayed at the shelter.

Gradually, the longing for Jack took hold of Alice so much that she stopped eating, was constantly sad and hardly slept. The owners guessed that their pet was so sad for Jack, but didn’t give up hope that it would pass. But after a few weeks, when Alice was still pining for him, they decided to call the shelter and found out that Jack was behaving the same way – he wouldn’t go for a walk, he wouldn’t eat, he wouldn’t sleep and he was sad all the time. After weighing the pros and cons, the decision was made to return Alice to her friend, even though everyone was already used to her.

The joy of the dogs was indescribable – at the sight of each other they started barking, jumping and wagging their tails. Even though shelter life isn’t exactly honey, but they were together. They both developed an appetite and an interest in life and they both played and enjoyed their walks. One day, their father and daughter came to the shelter; they needed an adult dog to guard the house. Jack came over to the girl to “get acquainted” and almost immediately gave her his paw. The contact was established – it was decided to take Jack.

But the shelter staff, already knowing what would happen next, told the new owners the story of Jack’s friendship with Alice. No one had the guts to separate the friends again and they moved into their new family together. Now the dogs do their duty, guarding the owner’s house, play cheerfully as before and, thanks to their caring owners, practically do not remember the time when they had to starve on the street.
