The man saved the life of the she-wolf and her puppies, a few years later the pack itself found him

In 1941, a man was looking for precious metals on Kupriyanov Island (Alaska). He wandered in a quiet place along the river, suspecting nothing. At some point, he noticed a stir among the trees. A moment later, realization pierced him with horror. From the other side, a huge beast was looking at him. It turned out that he was caught in a trap and could not get out.

Approaching, the man realized that in front of him was a she-wolf. From her swollen nipples, it became clear that she had recently given birth. So, he could tell that nearby, the cubs were waiting for their mother. Then the miner decided that first he would find them, and then he would think what to do with the beast.

It was winter and everything was littered with snow, which only plays into the hands of the savior, because you can follow the tracks to the she-wolf’s shelter. There were more tracks. This gave hope that he would soon get to the right point. A wolf’s hole was seen in the bushes. The man found them healthy and unharmed but they were very hungry.

Without any hesitation the man put the babies in a bag to take them to their mother. As soon as the she-wolf smelled the children and saw the approaching man, she howled. The flock, returning to the ground, rushed to my mother and began to eagerly suck milk.

The situation gradually worsened. The trap dug deeper and deeper into the paw of the beast, causing the wound to become deeper. Since the she-wolf did not trust the man, at each approach she began to growl, demonstrating aggression in every possible way.

The man remembered that he had seen the corpse of a deer along the way. He had to return to that place and get food. After a while, the pieces of meat were offered to the animal. It was getting dark. It was decided to spend the night right there. Having cut some branches, the man built a shelter.

In the morning, mischievous wolf cubs woke him up, licking his face and hands, sniffing. The mother was not so friendly. Our hero understood that in order to get an animal out of a trap, you need to gain trust. Otherwise, he won’t even be able to get close. Realizing that this was a long process, the man fed and played with the cubs, showing that he would not cause harm.

The second day was coming to an end. The gold digger’s strategy began to bear fruit. The wolf was already wagging her tail. The third day, he tried to slowly come closer. He bent down and stroked. The animal was already calmly reacting. Now is the time to act.

Our hero put his hand on the stuck paw and pressed the trap with force. The trap has opened. The prisoner quickly jumped out and limped. She did not run away, but approaching her savior, she lowered her head, as if in gratitude. The flock was saved and it’s time to move on. The man moved farther away, and the animals looked after him.

Four years have passed since then. Once again on the island, the man decided to go to the place where he last saw the rescued animals. From the top of the hill, he heard a wolf howl. The dark silhouette was slowly approaching. At first, the gold digger was trembling, but then he recognized the very she-wolf. She was glad to see him, wagging her tail, then turned around and howled loudly.

Another surprise was waiting for the hero. A group of wolves came out on a nearby peak, having heard a howl. Most likely they were her children, who had grown noticeably. After standing, the mother ran to them. This was the last meeting of the savior and the wolves. Every time he heard the howl, he remembered what had happened with warmth. The memory of that day will forever remain in his heart for sure. Such an amazing story proves that friendship between a man and a wild animal is possible.
