Many people want to buy a thoroughbred animal, but they are not interested in the peculiarities of keeping such a pet. As a result, without proper care and grooming, the animal quickly loses its external gloss, and in some cases begins to look just awful, as happened with a Persian cat named Sinbad.

The owner of a 9-year-old Persian cat – an elderly resident of Chicago, seems to have no idea about caring for this breed of cats. Meanwhile, Persian cats need constant combing and hair care, otherwise it gets into tangles that have to be cut. The pensioner did not care about Sinbad at all, did not wash or scratch him. As a result, over the long years of such a life, the cat turned into a mountain of tangled dirty wool.

It looked so bad that the public worker, who came into the old man’s apartment on business, at first mistook the animal for an old carpet, which should have been dumped long ago. Imagine his surprise when the “carpet” suddenly crawled towards him with a plaintive meow, as if asking for help.

Disappointed by what he saw, the man could not help but come to the aid of a cat that was in such a pitiful state. He called the animal protection service, and its representative took Sinbad and placed him in a shelter. So, Sinbad’s life changed for the better.

First of all, animal rights activists tried to free the cat from his tangled fur coat. In a few hours, almost 2.5 kg of wool was cut from the poor cat, and now he began to feel much better.

The veterinarian found damage to Sinbad’s hind legs, and the cat had a long rehabilitation treatment. At this time, the cat was taken in by Elliott Serrano, an employee of the animal protection organization “Society Against Cruelty”. However, the cat turned out to be so affectionate and sociable that Elliot could not part with him. They became best friends.

For five years Sinbad has been living in Elliot’s house. He grew a new coat and he turned out to be a snow-white handsome man. He receives good care, timely grooming and he has friends – several small dogs living in Elliot’s house.
