Unfortunately, in our time, it is not uncommon for parents to leave their babies in orphanages for one reason or another. Often this comes from the fact that a child is born with some kind of deviation – physical or psychological. At the same time, it is difficult to condemn such a decision of parents, the opinion of people has long been divided into two camps on this issue. One thing remains unchanged – the baby has to grow up without mom and dad and never feel what growing up in a complete family feels like.

This is what happened with Jessica Long. And an interesting thing about this girl is that Jessica Long is Tatyana Kirillova. She was born in Russia in one of the cities of Siberia – Bratsk. Her mother, Natalya, became pregnant with a baby at the age of 16. During her pregnancy, she underwent kidney treatment with a complex drug, which had a detrimental effect on the baby. Tatyana was born without the lower part of her legs.

The family influenced Natalia’s decision. They convinced the young girl that a disabled child would put an end to her entire life. With tears in her eyes, the mother signed the waiver of her baby. The girl was sent to an orphanage.

After a while, an American family took Tanya under their care. Her new parents had their own children, but Tanya who received the new name Jessica, never felt like a stranger in her new family. She grew up as a happy child.

From a young age, despite the peculiarities of her body, the girl loved to swim. Parents gave her to the sport and now at the age of 12, Jessica won her first medal. These were the Paralympic Games held in Athens. Then one she won one victory after another.
