The mother proudly presents her baby on social media but people reacted negatively

It is always unknown what or who your unborn baby will look most like. Pregnancy is a special time in a woman’s life, with its ups and downs for many. It is normal to be afraid, nervous and impatient.

Brody, son of Sara Heller and Chris Eidam, was born Oct. 7, 2016, with a cleft lip and palate. In fact, the doctors discovered that the child would be special at the 24th week of pregnancy:
“They asked us if we wanted to keep the baby,” Chris Eidam said.

For the couple, there was no choice but to continue the pregnancy. Sara was determined to change the way children with this type of facial deformity looked. When little Brody came into the world, there was nothing but joy. His parents often posted new photos of him on Facebook and shared his happy smile.

But they weren’t prepared for the storm of hate that fell on them after the photos of their little one were published. Sara found herself defending Brady’s appearance when she received comments like, “What’s wrong with your son’s face?” »

He was only three months old and was already the victim of harassment, teasing and hatred. Instead of getting angry she spoke with Chris, and thought about the best way to tackle the problem.

They chose to educate people, they made contact with other parents of children with this malformation and people currently suffering from it. They decided to work so that people become aware of what it was and gradually change their vision.

It was hard work and the couple discovered that not everyone was interested in learning, they just wanted to talk, criticize and hurt. But Sara and Chris persevered, seeking Brody’s best interests above all else. Shortly after the nasty comments on Facebook, Sara got another surprise. During a visit to the restaurant, the waiter came to the table with a gift from one of the people at another table.

The gift appeared to be a folded napkin, but it turned out to be a check for over €760 with the words “ It is for your beautiful child”

Sara regained faith in humanity. The money was going to be used for Brody’s operation. In addition, the words of this stranger gave the parents hope that people could see how handsome their son is.

On January 3, 2017, Brody was operated on, but it was not the last that the little boy would have to face. Time passes and Brody grows. His parents do everything possible to ensure that he is happy and enjoys life. They continue to spread their message against harassment and to encourage others to look at what is in their hearts and not on their appearance. Always remember that Judging others, and especially children for their looks is extremely negative and hurts their feelings for the rest of their lives.
