We often hear that young people no longer have values or education, or other similar things about the new generation. But when we stop generalizing, we realize that so many young people are much more united and concerned about the future than previous generations. They have so many good and underrated features.

The proof of this is the very nice gesture of nearly 400 students for their terminally ill teacher. Cancer is a terrible disease that affects many people all over the world and unfortunately takes many lives. Everyone has been directly or indirectly affected by cancer.

Unfortunately, there is no cure yet and millions of people suffer from this disease. Not only the sick person himself, but everyone in the environment has to deal with the disastrous consequences and accept the sad reality. This is why it is important to consult your doctor in case of pain, to do screenings according to your age group, etc.

Ben Ellis had been a Latin teacher at Christ Presbyterian Academy in Nashville since 2008. In 2015, he was diagnosed with cancer. Despite his various heavy treatments, Ben continued to attend school as much as possible, since education was very important for him.

Sadly, in 2016 he received the devastating news that he didn’t have long to live. Once the school and students heard about this news, they wanted to express their support and gratitude to their beloved teacher, who did everything to improve their education system.

On Sept. 7, 2016, nearly 400 students showed up at his door and all sang together for him. It was something, he could never imagine would ever happen. The emotional scene was filmed and shared on social media. Millions of people watched an extraordinarily touching moment.

Within days, the video gained more than 20 million views on Facebook. Ben sadly passed away shortly thereafter. His wife Shelley and their five children have never forgotten this wonderful gesture by the students. Rest in peace Ben.
