The story of f couple that spent 63 years of life together, and died holding hands

“Till Death Do Us Part” is a very famous expression. We hear is everywhere- in movies, books and of course in life too. Sometimes we say it without understanding the meaning of it and not believing that it can work in real life but this beautiful story of a couple from Texas proves us the opposite. They show and teach that pure love can exist.

The perfect couple

They are Tom and Delma Ledbetter. They spent 63 long years of their lives together. Their death was 80 minutes apart. Doctors tell how touching it was to see them holding hands till the last minute.

Their daughter later said that she expected them to be together till the end like that, and she was happy that their last minutes were as beautiful as the 63 years they had spent with each other. Tom was 84 and his wife was 82 years old. They  died in Texas on April 21.

Their first meeting

Their daughters told the story of their parent’s meeting and it seemed to be an ordinary relationship. They had mutual friends and one day met each other. They were in their 20s and life was so beautiful for them. They had several dates and both of them realized that there was something unexplainable between them.

And here’s how their beautiful relationship started. The couple got married almost after three-four weeks which seemed unbelievable to people but history showed us other successful marriages too, that were organized in even shorter time.

Always together, not matter what

But the time isn’t what matters. What matters is that their father always told his daughters that in the first moment of seeing their mom, he was sure that she was the one.

And as you see he was right. They were together all this years and that is the best evidence of his words.

Their connection followed them in their old years and when the woman got sick, after few days the man started to not feel well too. It was very stressful times for their two daughters to see both of them in that condition.

They continued to care for each other in the hospital too, where they asked to have one room with each other to always be next to each other.

The beautiful couple passed away on April 21. As we already mentioned, it happened to them 80 minutes apart. They shared their love how much they could.

One of their daughters said that it was so hard for them to accept that loss, but they were a little calm about the fact that they were together and felt happy very minute of their life till the very last one.
