The toothless old dog doesn’t interest anyone but here is his metamorphosis in his new family

Babies are cute and it is about both human and animal babies. The vast majority of us melt in front of a puppy or a kitten for example. Only in the shelters there are also a lot of adolescent or older animals, which people do not want. Abandoned to their fate in the streets, their state of health takes a hit as in the case of Saverio, taken in by an association when he was around 12-13 years old.

Saverio had only two teeth and needed a loving home. He wasn’t picky and had a “lovable grumpy old” character. But at 13, with health concerns, it was not easy to find him a family. And yet, he lives happily today, as La Stampa indicates.

When Saverio was cared for by an Italian shelter in Campobasso, the volunteers were amazed that he had lived so long given his tooth problems. The little dog had only two teeth, one above and one below. Quickly, he accepted the attention of the volunteers. Nothing could be simpler to gain his trust: give him something to eat. The doggie was over the moon that we finally take care of him.

He was a bit grumpy but also very sweet. When he was put up for adoption, the shelter was concerned that no one would be interested in him. But one day, a woman named Katia came to the center with the intention of adopting a puppy. Her attention fell on a little Yorkshire that she adopted. But she also saw Saverio and his big eyes. Her heart broke and she decided to adopt both!

From the start, the two dogs got along well. They love to nap together. Saverio has a strong character but is adorable:

“He is very intelligent and has a very communicative look. At night, he manages to open the bedroom door to sneak into my bed and he looks at me with a veil of melancholy, as if from time to time he thinks of his past and everything he had been through”.

Katia knows full well that her dog hasn’t had it easy, but for the same reason she wants to make sure that her remaining years are the best anyone can give her.
