The woman carried the found egg on herself for 35 days. See who hatched out of it

People who have compassion for homeless animals usually come to the aid of any living creature that needs help. So, Betsy Ross from the town of Visalia in California, who often helps street cats and dogs, could not pass by the ruined nest she saw walking with her family in the park. Her children found a nest in the grass with fragments of eggs – one of the hooligans must have ruined it.

The children were very upset by that sad sight. However, Betsy noticed that one egg was almost whole. Although the shell was slightly cracked, the contents did not leak out, which meant that there was a chance to save it.

First, the woman called the animal protection service, but they did not want to take the egg, as they only dealt with birds who were totally formed and born. Then Betsy decided that she was going to take care of it herself. The egg needed constant heating, so she put it in her bra, where it was around the clock. Now Betsy had to sleep only on her back to not damage the fragile shell.

The husband and children supported the initiative to save the chick, although they made fun of Betsy as a mother hen. But nevertheless, the man patiently warmed the egg in his hands when Betsy went to the bathroom to take a shower. The woman shared her impressions and photos on social networks. According to her, after a month, she began to feel someone moving inside the egg and even squeaking softly.

The experiment ended after 35 days, when the chick finally hatched. He was only able to crack half an egg, and the family needed a phone call from a veterinarian to help him. Unfortunately, it soon became clear that the baby was born prematurely. He was very weak and it was hard for him to move.

Betsy had to work hard to get him out. She rubbed the chick’s tummy with antibiotics, and it helped the newborn survive. To the great joy of the family, the baby finally got up and began to walk. Gradually, the pet got stronger and feathered. It turned out to be a wild duck chick. He sincerely considered Betsy his mother and made an incredible noise when she left home, so she tried to carry him everywhere with her. He also slept next to her, other places did not suit him.

When the duck grew up, the family gave her to the animal protection fund, where she now lives. Betsy sometimes visits her, she is satisfied with the conditions of her pet.
