James was startled to see his son Liam wailing in the attic, ruining what had seemed to be an ordinary day. He had no idea that the incident he hurriedly raced upstairs to console his terrified son would uncover a long-kept secret that had been hiding in the attic for years.

The incident started in 2018 when the family’s garden’s arborvitae suffered damage by deer. James and his family saw something strange amid the trees on the east side of the garden as they were getting ready to replace the damaged trees.

It turns out that what they had initially believed to be an electrical box was actually something far more intriguing. In order to plant bamboo-resistant trees, get rid of the damaged trees, and open the enigmatic metal box, landscapers were engaged in May 2018.

To their surprise, the metal box was the entrance to a massive hornet’s nest and not just any old electrical component. The sheer magnitude of the nest and the peculiar sound emanating from it took both James and Liam by surprise. Unlike anything they had ever seen, the nest appeared to hold something important.

James called a hornet control specialist in search of professional assistance, and the expert first thought he could handle the matter when he arrived.

But as soon as the expert stepped into the attic, where the hornets had a nest unlike any other, his perspective abruptly changed. The family was left in despair when he quickly declined the task.

James continually asked to wait for winter to find a solution, even after making multiple attempts to acquire assistance from other pest control firms. James made the decision to act alone because things were becoming worse and they could not tolerate the sound of hornets in their house. However, his choice proved to be hazardous.
