There is a very good saying: “You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed”. You may know this popular quote from “The Little Prince” that was written in 1943 by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.

And most of the time people use this quote to describe their relationship with animals and pets. Unfortunately, not everyone values animals like that and most of the time many people don’t take any responsibilities when it is about animals.

This story is about how volunteers discovered Heidi who was a little pony, just lying in the backyard. She didn’t even move and the situation of her was critical. People who found him couldn’t even tell if she was alive or not.

But they were so happy to notice a faint breathing. That is when they immediately took Heidi to the vets but they weren’t sure if she would make it either. Nevertheless, the volunteers made a decision try to save the life of the pony because that was all they could do.

Heidi was sheared and that is when it became apparent how emaciated and dehydrated she was. There were numerous sores on the pony’s skin. From that they could tell that the poor animal was not washed or groomed for years. Fortunately, no other serious illnesses were found. But anyways getting her out was not easy for them.

Fortunately, Heidi proved to be a real fighter and strong animal. And treating was not the only thing she needed. She needed a lot of love and attention. The pony received that, and being surrounded with love actually helped her.
