Little did his owners know what would happen the next day… The six-year-old Goldendoodle named Harley became famous on social media when his owner Ralph Dorn posted photos of a very unusual incident that occurred a few weeks ago. It all started when the dog went missing and Ralph and his wife Pat went searching for him in the woods. Harley was found in a lake not far from their home. He was swimming in the water, scraping a small animal. And soon, the brave dog pulled a small fawn to shore. The baby was only two days old, wet and shivering from the cold. The fawn’s mother was nowhere to be found, and Harley began licking the fawn back to health. As it turned out, the fawn ended up in the middle of the lake and began to drown. The baby was very lucky that Harvey heard his call and rushed to his rescue. According to Ralph, his dog never left the fawn. He took care of him and kept a close eye on his condition. Soon, the fawn warmed up and was able to stand on its own. That’s when a noise was heard in the bushes and the fawn rushed to his mother’s call. However, this was not the last encounter with the Bambi. The next morning, Harvey suddenly became agitated. He was running around the house begging to be let out. Then Ralph heard a faint bleating. The man opened the door and the dog ran out into the yard where the fawn he had rescued the day before was waiting for him between the trees. Ralph and his wife Pat witnessed an amazing scene. Harvey and little Bambi touched noses, wagged tails and stood side by side for a while, as if they were talking without words. Then the fawn went back to his mommy and the dog went home. Ralph and Pat were amazed at what they saw. The wild animal had indeed come to thank the dog for his rescue. That doesn’t happen very often! But they were not surprised by Harvey’s behaviour. Their pet was specially trained. For several years, he has worked as a therapy dog in nursing homes and children’s institutions. He has compassion in his blood, and little Bambi was very lucky that Harvey was there for him that day.
