Unfortunately, the life sometimes separates the dog and the human. It is very difficult for a dog owner to recover from the disappearance of his faithful friend and requires a long time. But when the owner goes before the dog, it’s an equally painful for the dog, which can sometimes last for years…and even forever…

We all know the story of the Japanese dog Hachiko, which is so famous. He waited more than 10 years for the return of his deceased owner in front of a Tokyo station. In this article, discover an equally moving new proof of dog loyalty.  It happened In Greece, more specifically in Naupactus, a town in the west of the country.

A tragic accident

The story begins on a road to Naupactus. A man named Harry had a road accident there 18 months ago. Unfortunately, the tragedy was so sad. The 40-year-old lost his life there. Harry could hardly have imagined the magnificent proof of love his dog was going to give him after he is gone. But he knew for sure his dog loved him as much as he loved him.

The separation

Since the day Harry died, his dog has not left the scene of the tragedy. The little dog decided that he will not leave the places where his owner breathed his last. He has been staying by the side of the road for a year and a half, near the memorial of his beloved Harry. It’s sometimes hard to believe that we live next to such kind and smart creatures.

New friendships were pointless

His presence did not go unnoticed, as the neighbors immediately reacted. Some of them tried to take him to give him a new life, but he easily found again the place where he lost his owner. Many always say that he was waiting for him, but he clearly knew that his owner was gone and was just sitting there because he missed him. Since then, the neighborhood has been striving to provide him with everything necessary for his comfort, safety and health. They realized that it is pointless to try to move him from there.

Even the Greek television recently covered this moving situation. A short report was shot at the scene of the accident where we discovered this adorable dog. Media decided that more people need to see and know about this wonderful faithful dog.

Many people after that started offering him food and shelter. Many even decided to visit there personally and see the dog. The neighbors knew that many of them would try to take the dog with them, so they explained all the visitors that they take care of the dog there. It was his decision to stay there and not move anywhere with anyone else. It is so sad to think about how much he suffered. And always remember: Animals are mostly only a part of our life that we love so much, but for animals we are their whole life. Take care of your animal and show how much you love them.
