Why a cat asks to open the door, but doesn’t come in. Reasons and explanations

There are many moments in the behavior of cats that are incomprehensible and mysterious to humans. And one of these moments is the regularly repeated situation of opening a closed door.

More precisely, with making the owner open the door if it is closed, and then pretending that you have nothing to do with it. What owner hasn’t gone through this with his cat?

Why open the door?

There isn’t a cat owner who doesn’t open a closed door at its request. But the “twist” is that for the sake of the animal’s pleading cries, combined with the scratching of the door, the owner distracted himself from his business, went over and opened the door after all. And the animal immediately lost all interest and stayed in the same place, although a few seconds ago it was pretending that it needed more than anything else in life to leave the room at this very moment.

If he cursed, it would only stare at him in bewilderment, but it was unlikely to move. Not in the direction of the exit to which it had just asked to go, at any rate. Even worse, if the furious owner will close the door before he will go back to his business – the cat will immediately start to “beg” to open the door. One can, of course, assume that the pet is simply taunting the owner, driving him to a frenzy.

“And the door just opened…”

The crux of the problem was a lack of understanding – the cat’s request wasn’t to be let in or out, it just wanted the door open. Along with a craving for secluded corners and confined spaces, cats also have a need for control over their own territory. Therefore, every owner of a tabby-skinned cat should remember that from the moment of getting a furry pet in his house, the apartment no longer belongs to him – the cat will be in charge now.

And if so, then we will have to obey its demands and … open the door. By the way, sometimes the alarming state of the pet, forcing open the door after all, can be due to finding a potential prey, another man’s cat or the enemy behind it. Psychics, who claim that cats undoubtedly communicate with invisible forces from parallel worlds, believe that when a cat opens the door and refuses to pass, then at this moment he gives the passage to someone whom the owner cannot see, but with whom the cat itself communicates at night, staring at an empty space.

The best door is an open door!

As you know, cats love, from time to time, to dash all over the apartment, hitting various unstable objects. Therefore, in order to prepare in advance the “ground” for the moment when it will be covered with the “thirst for speed”, the cat asks to open the door, removing an unnecessary obstacle for a run.

The best part is that even by providing mini cat doors in every door of the house, the owner still has to face having to open the door at the pet’s request. The only door that should not be rushed to open is the front door. If a cat pops out unexpectedly on the stairwell, it can get into a lot of different kinds of trouble. This is especially true for animals that live at home without going outside.
