Why you can’t watch your dog go to the bathroom

Superstitions invented by the people concern different things, circumstances and objects. Therefore, animals and their behavior have given a wide ground for the compilation of new omens and superstitions. Although, it is possible that behind some omens there is a grain of truth, and then it is even possible to explain from a scientific point of view the prohibitions on certain actions, which are stated in the superstition. Among such strange, at first glance, omens is the following: you can not watch dogs pooping.

Objective and obvious

Perhaps the purpose of superstition is not to provoke a natural physiological reaction of the human body

It is absolutely obvious that a pooping dog can cause various signs of physiological discomfort, including nausea, in humans. Much depends on how impressionable this citizen is, and what his state of health is at the moment. In general, disgust and squeamishness are absolutely normal human feelings that can occur when seeing someone go to the toilet.

And it is quite a logical reason not to look at this process if you have recently eaten or are eating at the moment. The omen itself may also have appeared as a result of human squeamishness, based on instinct. Because usually the sight of an animal relieving himself is the most likely to cause him to turn away.

How this may turn out for the observer

Is anyone who sees this process really in danger?

In fact, from the scientific point of view, this omen has no grounds. In any case, scientists have not yet found any correlation between when a person observes an animal pooping and the onset of any problems later.

Sometimes the situation is almost hopeless and the observer just has to watch the animal going to the toilet. This happens mostly if one wants to get an idea of the health of the animal, when one wants to know if it is experiencing any pain while defecating. Of course, there are no consequences mentioned in the superstition.

Consequences of superstitions

Is there any point in believing in such omens or do they have a simple explanation?

There are not many truly objective reasons why you should not watch a dog poop. But there are a lot more different beliefs. The most common consequences “foretold” to the observer are: pain in the eyes, blindness, a barley in the eye, impending failure to hunt (in case he was watching a hunting dog).

Suppose, of course, a barley can appear, but from the fact that the person’s immunity level decreased, and there was a bacterial infection. Finding a direct correlation to watching a dog poop is simply not possible here. Just as in the case of the appearance of vision problems. But to believe in omens or not – everyone decides for himself, based on personal experience or other reasons. One thing is certain – such omens, as a rule, are not confirmed in practice.
